Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem
[Suratul Kahf]
Alhamdulillaahil lladhii anzala 'ala abdihil kitaab, wa lam yaj'allahu iwaja- All praise is due to Allaah who revealed this book and has not placed therein any crookedness
Qayyiman liyundhira ba'san shadiidan min ladunhu wa yubashshiral mu'miniin- (He has made it) Straight to give warning (to the disbelievers) of a severe punishment from Him, and to give glad tidings to the believers
Allaah tells us that He sent this book to us, His slaves and in it their is no crookedness, no doubt and no change.
Imagine having a book with unchanging standards, standing the test of time,- Muslims aren't supposed to be people who change their standards as the world changes its standards, because our standards come from the Qur'an.
and He also describes it as "Qayyiman" - Straight, upright...This emphasizes that Qur'an is constantly upright, standing for what's right- so when we become connected to this book it enables us to be Upright too, and stand for what is right...it gives us a clear sense of direction, vision and purpose...it builds our confidence & character, and when we become disconnected to this book is when we begin to lose our values...
