From the lips of Khadija

“Allah would never humiliate you, for you are good to your relatives, you are true to your word, you help those who are in need, you support the weak, you feed the guest and you answer the call of those who are in distress."

These are words from the Mother of believers, Khadija (radiyAllahu anha), to her husband, the prophet (salAllahu alayhi wa sallam) on account of the first revelation. These are indeed, words of great value, carrying  so much weight and wisdom, from which we can all have a share.

“Allaah would never humiliate you…” she had said, when her husband came up to her frightened, in shock. Not knowing in what state he was, or the meaning of what had just happened to him. With a heart full of peace, she knew that Allaah would not forsake a slave with with such virtues..

Khadija (radiyAllahu anha) had continued, “...for you are good to your relatives, you are true to your word, you help those who are in need, you support the weak, you feed the guest and you answer the call of those who are in distress.” subhanAllaah.

Allah, would certainly not disgrace His slave with such attributes. He is Al-Adl, The Just, and As-shakur, The Grateful, never would He let the works of His righteous slave go in vain. Khadija (radiyAllahu anha), in her wisdom had known that, and with this she comforted her husband, on the day when he was frightened like never before.

Her words represent a summary of the great virtues mentioned in Ayahs of the Quran and hadith. Virtues that portray all that our beloved prophet (salAllahu alayhi wa sallam) was, and all we should strive to be.
For the one who seeks honor, Allah is the source of all honor, and having these values established in oneself makes you a guaranteed recipient of it. Allah would never put you to shame, and He would never disgrace you.

So what we need to do is strive to establish these values in ourselves and others.

Being good to our relatives:  "The bond of relationship is suspending from the throne", and it says: "He who keeps good relations with me, Allah will keep connection with him and who so ever severs relations with me Allah will sever connection with him". [bukhari]
"So would you perhaps if you turned away, cause corruption on earth and severe your ties of relationships. Those who do so are the ones that Allah has cursed, so he deafens them and blinded their vision” (Muhammad 22-23).

Being true to our word: “verily, the truth leads to virtue and virtue leads to paradise”[bukhari]

Helping those who are in need , supporting the weak and answering the call of those in distress: ” Whoever relieves a believer’s distress of the distressful aspects of this world, Allah will rescue him from a difficulty of the difficulties of the Hereafter. Whoever alleviates [the situation of] one in dire straits who cannot repay his debt, Allah will alleviate his lot in both this world and in the Hereafter. Whoever conceals [the faults of] a Muslim, Allah will conceal [his faults] in this life and the Hereafter. Allah is helping the servant as long as the servant is helping his brother”

In addition to these, Allah will grant us honor, and we will have no cause to fear anything for He will never put us to shame.
And this also means that when things happen in our lives that spark fear in our hearts, or are threatening to our sense of honor, we should remember that Allah would not disgrace us as long as we are true to Him, let us remember the words of Khadija (RadiyAllahu anha)
